Balcom Agency Named Best Place to Work for Young Professionals
Fort Worth, Texas – May 18, 2010 – Balcom Agency’s youngest employees always knew they had it good. But now, so does the rest of Fort Worth.
On May 12, Vision Fort Worth, the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce’s program for young professionals, honored Balcom Agency as a forward-thinking company with the “perfect vision” for attracting, retaining, and engaging professionals between the ages of 20 and 40. Balcom Agency won Best Small Company in 2010. Selected as a finalist from among 38 nominees and 25 applicants, Balcom competed with two other small companies for recognition -- Paige Hendricks Public Relations, Inc. and Brown & Gay Engineers, Inc. During an awards ceremony held at Four Day Weekend Theater, Balcom stood beside winners from mid-sized and large companies, including Community Bank, Weaver, and Freese and Nichols, Inc.
Winners of the 20/20 Award were selected following a three-pronged process during which companies earned points on a written application, a survey of their young employees, and an online vote open to the public. According to Vision Fort Worth, criteria for the award included benefits, training and empowerment, community, quality of life, and recruitment and recognition of young professionals. Of Balcom’s 24 employees, 15 are young professionals.
As Vision Fort Worth notes, winners of the 20/20 Award make Fort Worth a better place for young professionals to live, work, and play. Balcom does this, all while producing award-winning work for its clients.
