Balcom Agency's Package Design for Justin Bent Rail Boots Wins Placement in Print’s Regional Design Annual
Balcom is the only Fort Worth agency in Print’s 30th anniversary survey of outstanding design across the U.S.
Fort Worth, Texas – Dec. 14, 2010 – Print's Regional Design Annual 2010 features Balcom Agency's distinctive package design for Justin Boot Company's new Bent Rail Collection.
Since 1981, the prestigious Print Regional Design Annual has served as the only comprehensive survey of outstanding design throughout the United States and the only collection organized by geography. Balcom is the lone Fort Worth agency represented in the special annual issue, released in December.
Trey Sprinkle, senior art director at Balcom, designed the high-impact box to appeal to 18-to-24-year-old consumers, the target demographic for Justin's new Bent Rail line of boots. Sprinkle used rough-and-tumble type design with photos of acoustic guitars, drummers and stage doors. Alt-country music is an essential part of the Bent Rail brand. Its launch featured live concerts and real-time social networking with musicians.
"The box rocks," said Balcom Creative Director Carol Glover. "Trey designed the two-color box to reduce production costs without sacrificing its visual impact. It's another great example of how outstanding work can be executed under the strictest of parameters."
"Congratulations to Balcom Agency on the inclusion in Print's design annual," praised Louis Russo, Justin Boots' brand manager. "Balcom is a valuable partner in our efforts to uphold Justin's longstanding tradition of quality. They play an instrumental role in all of our marketing initiatives, from strategic planning and tactics to execution and measurement. We are proud to see their unmatched talents acknowledged."
